On 19 February 2026, at 5.00 pm, the ICBAS/FFUP Library will be pleased to welcome Professor Pedro Oliveira for another session of the series “One book… one person… one message”, which will take place in the Library’s main hall.
In this edition, the conversation will focus on The Betrothed by Alessandro Manzoni, a classic of Italian literature that has spanned generations and continues to engage readers through themes such as faith, justice, love and human commitment.
As Pope Francis recalls: “I have read The Betrothed three times and now keep it on my desk to read again. Manzoni gave me so much.”
