Organic, energetic, and joyful, the transatlantic trio Trinka brings together Portuguese composer and guitarist João Pires with Brazilian singer Dandara Modesto and percussionist Juninho Ibituruna. Drawing on the poetry of the Portuguese language, they craft songs in collaboration with writers José Eduardo Agualusa, Brisa Marques, and Pedro Luís. Their sound is a vibrant fusion of Afro-Brazilian rhythms, voice, synthesizer, and acoustic guitar, captured on their debut EP recently released by the German label Agogo Records.
