“This is not a monologue”, one of the characters in Dirty Talk reminds you. No, the play written by Pedro Galiza, based on Michael Puzzo’s black comedy The Dirty Talk (2005), is nowhere near a monologue. L. and M. are two men who can never stop talking to each other. They talk, argue, shout, say a lot about almost everything and, in fact, say barely anything. “You know what I mean, don't you?” But it is in such moments when nothing special is said or almost nothing happens that their humanity is revealed in all its complexity. They talk and fill the silence with words, ideas and stories, true or false, tender or obscene, gentle or impulsive, because they simply do not want to be alone. Conversa Porca is produced by ASSéDIO Teatro, directed and performed by Daniel Silva and Pedro Quiroga Cardoso. “And now? What do you want to talk about?”
