Clouds – Associação Cultural, in collaboration with Clube Fenianos Portuenses, is pleased to present *The Light That Remains*, a new series of paintings by artist Lana Nobrega Gouveia.

Born in Kyrgyzstan in 1969 and currently based in Portugal, Lana Nobrega Gouveia creates abstract works through a dialogue between contemporary sensibility and the traditional techniques of the Old Masters. Her practice is deeply rooted in the use of materials prepared according to traditional recipes, allowing the physicality of the painting itself to become an essential part of the artistic experience.

In The Light That Remains, the artist explores the delicate space between figuration and abstraction, drawing the viewer into states of uncertainty, transition and quiet transformation.

Here, light is not presented as a dominant or illuminating force. Instead, it appears as a fragile trace — something that remains, persists and quietly reveals itself within the depths of the image.

The works invite the viewer to slow down and remain with what is not immediately defined. Between presence and disappearance, materiality and light, the paintings create a contemplative space in which meaning can gradually emerge.

Through this exhibition, Clouds and Clube Fenianos Portuenses invite the public to encounter Lana Nobrega Gouveia’s work as an experience of stillness, subtlety and attentive looking.

The Light That Remains is an invitation to pause, to observe, and to discover what continues to shine even when light itself becomes almost imperceptible.
