WORKSHOP SINGING: Slavic Summer Solstice
Polish singer Greta Wardęga returns to The hidden space with another singing workshop, this time with a focus on songs from Poland, Lemko minority and Belarus that people sing on the night of the summer solstice.
Apart from learning singing and breathing techniques, the workshop guides you along the traditions and rituals of this special night, specifically the mysterious fern flower that appears only once a year and which guarantees prosperity and happiness for life.
This evening is open to anyone interested in discovering their natural voice and improving their singing. Be sure to bring comfortable clothes, a bottle of water and a good mood!
THE FACILITATOR
Greta Wardęga is a singer, songwriter, and percussionist whose musical journey weaves through Poland and the Balkans, embracing intricate rhythms and polyphonic traditions. She’s part of music ensembles Asteria and Balklavalhau, and curates Balkan and Slavic sounds through Balskandal and the Bombalkanica Festival.
