The Portuguese guitar is one of the greatest symbols of fado, but when you listen to Marta Pereira da Costa you hear more than that, you hear a guitar as a voice, you hear fado travelling the world in the hands of a woman, breaking down barriers, uniting borders. The new album she is presenting, entitled Sem Palavras, is a four-handed work that marks a meeting between the Portuguese guitar and the piano, with original compositions and others by names as diverse as Carlos Paredes, George Gershwin, Joaquín Rodrigo, Chick Corea, José Luis Tinoco and António Pinho Vargas.
