Rui Esperança (Viana do Castelo, 1991) graduated in Cinema from the National School of Theater and Cinema in 2013. The author of a body of work that includes several short films, which premiered at festivals such as IndieLisboa, Doclisboa or Curtas Vila do Conde, he was assistant director to Joaquim Sapinho between 2013 and 2015. He is currently a board member of the Audiovisual Production Association (Ao Norte) and the film production cooperative Fora de Campo Filmes.
His cinema, markedly documentary, focuses on adolescence and early adulthood, phases of countless doubts and decisions. In Batalha, we present three short films representative of his work.
