Stand-Up "Há Vida Depois da Cegueira" (There is Life After Blindness) and Presentation of the Book "Depois da Curva – Perder a Visão Tem Sido Assim" (After the Curve – Losing Vision Has Been Like This) — 16:00

A unique performance blending storytelling and stand-up, where Ricardo Miguel Teixeira shares, with humour and introspection, his experience of losing his sight at the age of 18. For 1 hour and 15 minutes, he guides the audience through a journey of physical, sensory, and social adaptations, challenging stereotypes and demonstrating that blindness does not define a person’s life. Between seriousness, satire, and dark humour, this performance provokes reflection on inclusion and the perception of disability.

The book "Depois da Curva – Perder a Visão Tem Sido Assim" is an invitation to reflect on blindness and how society views it. After losing his sight at 18, the author shares his journey of physical, emotional, and social adaptations, dismantling prejudices and promoting a lighter, more inclusive perspective. With humour and authenticity, the book intersects personal experience with the approach developed in his stand-up performances, reinforcing that "not seeing is just that and nothing more".

Round Table — 18:00 | FREE ENTRY!

This session of the "Reviralho em Conversa" cycle will be dedicated to the theme of Inclusion, proposing a reflection on diversity and accessibility based on different artistic, social, and personal experiences.

Moderated by Francisca Bartilloti Matos, a doctor and writer, the conversation stems from the intersection of areas such as medicine, poetry, and cultural practice, fostering a space for listening and sharing.

Our guests include: João Pimentel Alves, a photographer born in Porto and founder of Made By Memories Photography, recognised for his auteur photography focused on the city and its visual identity, and for the "Porto Windows" project, dedicated to Porto's architectural details and distinguished with the Fernando Távora Prize; Ricardo Miguel Teixeira, author of Depois da Curva, performer, and cultural producer who, after losing his sight, built an artistic path linked to dance, theatre, and stand-up comedy, where he addresses blindness, adaptation, and resilience with humour, also being the founder of deMente produções; and Marta Calejo, a designer and artist born in Braga, whose practice centres on investigating creative methodologies as a tool for critical thinking and social transformation, exploring drawing as performance and mediator between body, space, and gesture, as well as photography and the image as instruments of memory, archiving, and documentation of the creative process.

This gathering aims to broaden the debate on identity, accessibility, and belonging, combining personal experiences, literature, and cultural practices to question and imagine other forms of inclusion.
