Primeira Box is a new concert series created to spotlight some of the most exciting projects emerging from Porto’s independent underground music scene. Taking place in the newly opened Coliseu Box, at the Coliseu Porto Ageas, the programme gives rising bands and artists the opportunity to connect with wider audiences in one of Portugal’s most iconic venues.

The opening night, on 6 July, is dedicated to experimental music, ambient soundscapes and art-pop, bringing together three artists exploring distinct sonic territories.

Astra Vaga presents the ethereal dream-pop universe of Pedro Ledo, whose emotionally charged Portuguese lyrics drift through lush and atmospheric compositions. Calcutá invites audiences into the sonic world of Teresa Castro, where folk, drone and ambient music converge in a hypnotic and free-flowing live performance. Evaya completes the line-up with an intimate and experimental take on art-pop, weaving electronic textures with progressive, poetic songwriting.

The programme is curated by musician, DJ and producer João Vieira (DJ Kitten / X-Wife) in collaboration with the Coliseu. With Primeira Box, new possibilities emerge for Porto’s underground music community to meet the scale, technical excellence and heritage of one of the country’s most important concert halls.

Each edition features three live performances, three distinct artistic voices, and a journey through multiple sonic landscapes.
