Can a piece of cardboard capture the world? In this workshop, we return to the essence of photography to build a functional camera from scratch. Without lenses or automation, we explore the pinhole technique, where a simple hole transforms light into an image.

The challenge is entirely manual: we build the device, load the photographic paper, and head outdoors to master exposure times. Back at the studio, we step into the darkroom for the critical moment of chemical development. Here, we learn to see in the dark, developing the negative and then transforming it into a positive image. In the end, each participant takes home not just a photograph, but the record of the entire physical process of light.
