The ESMAE Classical Orchestra returns to the stage of the Helena Sá e Costa Theatre on 1 October at 6.00 pm for a concert conducted by Jan Wierzba, featuring a programme that brings together two major works from the symphonic repertoire. Written for *Fidelio*, Beethoven’s only opera, *Leonore No. 3* is one of the four overtures associated with the work. Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 5, composed in 1830, was originally conceived to mark the 300th anniversary of the Augsburg Confession.
