This workshop is both a training session in Circlesinging and Vocal Improvisation, offering an in-depth approach to improvised singing. It is especially aimed at musicians and educators who wish to expand their techniques and explore new possibilities for vocal creativity. Exercises will be based on the tradition that Bobby McFerrin called Circlesinging, the Vocal River method developed by American singer Rhiannon, and the pioneering work of the legendary Meredith Monk. Circlesinging is based on a dynamic of collective creation with singers arranged in a circle, while Vocal River proposes a method of musical and social teaching based on sung improvisation. Thus, this training explores the potential of the group as a vehicle for artistic creation, in a collaborative logic.
