The legendary quest for the Holy Grail was Wagner's inspiration for composing Parsifal. Although not a sacred work, the narrative is deeply mystical and contains many Christian references: sin, compassion, redemption and salvation achieved on Good Friday. In this special Easter concert, we hear the Parsifal suite arranged by conductor Andrew Gourlay, along with excerpts from the opera Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg.
