Porto composer Igor C. Silva has created a soundtrack that fills as much as it lets you breathe for the silent film O Táxi 9297, produced by Invicta Film and shown at Cinema Batalha in 1927. After the premiere of the cine-concert in Porto in 2020, and a successful tour to the Philharmonie de Luxembourg, we are once again presenting this commission from Casa da Música. The plot begins with the strangulation of a woman by her ex-lover in a cab, which shocked Lisbon society in 1926. In the newspapers, a Reporter X published the results of his own investigations, denouncing the perpetrator of the crime. The journalist was Reinaldo Ferreira, who shortly afterwards was inspired by his research to make this crime film, a classic of Portuguese silent cinema. — Casa da Música
