In downtown Porto, Christmas takes on a new life with “Missão Nutcrackers, O Natal chega à cidade” (Mission Nutcrackers, Christmas comes to town), a video mapping, light, and pyrotechnics show projected onto the façade of the City Hall. The story follows Baltazar, the clockmaker of the Clérigos Tower, whose workshop is destroyed by fire. Among the ashes, his toys, the Nutcrackers, come to life and find the Light Machine, an invention capable of restoring light and the Christmas spirit to the entire city.

With this flying machine, the Nutcrackers travel around Porto, lighting up the city and bringing Christmas to everywhere: from the Cathedral to the Douro, from São Bento to the neighborhoods of Porto. The show culminates in the construction of the Christmas Tree in Aliados, where Baltazar returns to complete his work.

With projections, original music, synchronized lights, and pyrotechnic effects, the show celebrates unity, hope, and the idea that Christmas is for everyone. For all streets, all windows, all hearts. Christmas comes to the whole city.
