Flute and piano duo Antonina Saraieva & Kevin Carberry bring together music inspired by ancient legends, water spirits, moonlight, and storytelling — featuring works by Debussy, Reinecke, John Williams, Foote and Bizet. Moving between intimacy and atmosphere, the concert transforms classical repertoire into something far removed from the traditional concert hall.Surrounded by the stillness of the abandoned piscina, the audience is invited into a space where music and atmosphere merge into a single nocturnal landscape.
Antonina Saraieva is a Ukrainian pianist based in Porto, bringing over two decades of classical training to an increasingly collaborative and unconventional practice. She studied at the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music, where she also competed extensively on the international circuit throughout her formative years. After a long career rooted in the classical tradition, she has found a new musical home in Porto — one built around intimacy, atmosphere, and the freedom to perform outside institutional concert settings. Her current work centres on chamber music and collaborative projects that prioritise feeling over formality, and connection over convention. Kevin Carberry is an Irish flautist based in Porto, Portugal, performing regularly in chamber music and solo recital projects across Europe. His work focuses on creating intimate and atmospheric performances that move beyond the traditional concert hall, bringing classical repertoire into contemporary and unconventional spaces. Originally trained within the conservatoire tradition, he studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Irish Academy of Music before working extensively as an orchestral musician throughout the UK and Ireland. His recent work centres around collaborative recital projects that prioritise atmosphere, connection, and accessibility over formality. Kevin is a Pearl Flutes International Artist.
Antonina and Kevin met in Porto as two classically trained musicians who had each, independently, grown distant from the world they were trained for.
Their partnership grew from a shared sense of displacement from the traditional classical scene, and a mutual desire to keep making music on their own terms.
Their performances are built around feeling, not formality — trading concert halls for cultural spaces and unconventional venues where music and people can actually meet. A programme that is, unashamedly, romantic, shared in places that feel alive rather than ceremonial.
