MOCHO RECORDS FESTIVAL

Founded at the end of 2024, MOCHO RECORDS is an independent experimental music net-label based in Porto. Its mission is to “stir up” local artists, aiming to provoke musical outcomes that reflect the evolving connections within the community.

To celebrate MOCHO’s first year and the various albums already released, the label's first event will take place at Escola Normal, on August 10, 2025, starting at 5 PM.

This first edition will feature performances by:

5 PM – João Pedro Dias
Trumpet player based in Porto who released his debut solo album in late 2024 through MOCHO RECORDS ("Memories from a dead tree").

6 PM – O Senhor
An improvisational and meditative music project by Hugo Ferreira, a Porto-based musician and producer, and Jozías Díaz, a percussionist from Mexico City dedicated full-time to the handpan. Their collaboration resulted in the album "O Senhor" – MR002 – released by MOCHO RECORDS in early 2025.

7 PM – Commissioned performance by Francisca Vieira Campos, João Cardita, and Miguel Meirinhos:
Harpist, sound artist, and dancer Frederica Campos will join musicians João Cardita on drums and Miguel Meirinhos on piano for a special performance.

8 PM – José Vale
Musician from Penafiel who has established his artistic base in Porto. He is becoming an increasingly present name in the national improvised and rock music scenes.

Several visual artists have also been invited to exhibit their work and create pieces specifically for the event on the day itself.

Tickets will be sold in three phases:

Until July 31: 7€ per ticket when buying two (10€ individual ticket);
From July 31 to August 9: 10€ per ticket;
On the day: 15€.
Food will be available on-site, prepared by chef Victor Momberg
