Maria is a singer-songwriter and, in addition to her eclectic repertoire of jazz, MPB, bossa nova, soul/pop, Portuguese music, and fado, she likes to be identified as a world music singer, aiming to break cultural and musical boundaries. For her, there are no barriers in music — everything can be blended and experienced in many different ways, thanks to her capacity for transformation and artistic flexibility. As a songwriter, she also created the project Maria da Maré, with her debut single Ventos e Mares — available on all digital platforms — which blends the world music universe with Fado and Flamenco. She has also released other singles and is preparing to finish her album next year.
