The ICBAS/FFUP Library presents the temporary exhibition “Books Then, Books Now... Camilo Castelo Branco”, on display from 21 September to 21 October, on the upper floor of the Reading Room.

The exhibition invites visitors to discover some of the most emblematic works by Camilo Castelo Branco, one of the most prominent figures in 19th-century Portuguese literature, whose work continues to span generations and shape the literary and educational journeys of many readers.

Alongside a selection of different titles from Camilo’s work, the exhibition highlights different editions of the same work, offering an opportunity to see how his texts have been published and presented over time.

Through books, editions and different ways of presenting his work, the exhibition offers a reflection on the enduring legacy of Camilo Castelo Branco and on how his writing continues to reach new generations of readers.
