A Leste invites you to the opening of the exhibition Liturgia do Calor by Rômulo Barros, on November 6th at 7 PM.
Originally from Medeiros, Minas Gerais (1995), Rômulo Barros develops a transdisciplinary practice that moves through painting, installation, sculpture, and printmaking, exploring manual making as a poetic and alchemical language.
During their residency at A Leste, the artist investigated local symbols and imaginaries, observing gestures, materials, and techniques rooted in artisanal and traditional practices. From this encounter emerged a body of work that reflects on what is produced and reinvented by human touch — a process that, in the artist’s words, “transits, crosses, and becomes what it needs to be.”
Liturgia do Calor unfolds the visual and poetic manifestations of this journey — a dialogue between body and territory, between what dissolves and what germinates, between the silence of matter and the sound of creation.
Supported by In Residence from Ágora - Cultura e Desporto do Porto E.M.
