"Laboratório Nómada: práticas de observação" is an exhibition-performance transforms a year of research and collective creation into a space for archiving, observation and imagining the territory.
Developed with groups of young people and people with disabilities in Amares, the project brought together artistic practices, scientific observation and collective experiences. Walks, listening exercises, maps, collecting, journeys through water and cosmic observation gave rise to a poetic-speculative archive made up of sounds, images, materials, traces, narratives and hypotheses about what surrounds us.
Structured around three dimensions, terrestrial, fluvial and cosmic, the research transforms stones, plants, sediments, bodies and constellations into starting points for imagining other relationships with the territory. Across different scales, a stone can become a mountain, a drop of water can become a river, or a walk can turn into a form of cartography.
The result takes the form of a Cosmic Observation Station, an exhibition-performance in constant activation that invites the public to explore, interpret and contemplate. Presented in Amares and Porto, the work establishes a relationship between two apparently distinct contexts, rural and urban, seeking to reveal the continuities, frictions and interdependencies that run through them. Between these two geographies, a shared field of experimentation emerges: a place where the human scale is no longer the sole measure and where we can imagine other ways of relating bodies, territories, matter and the cosmos.
