Since 2017, IndieJunior has been visiting the city's main cinemas to present the most creative and original children's and young people's cinema from around the world. The festival includes an international film competition, with around 50 recent productions (fiction, documentaries and animations), almost all of which are new to the country, and which are assessed by juries that award the prizes. In 2024, in its eighth edition, IndieJúnior joins the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of 25 April, with Freedom as its central theme, to offer a vast programme of film screenings, workshops and other activities for families and schools.
