On Saturday, July 4, the Miguel Bombarda Cultural Quarter will host the fourth 2026 edition of the Simultaneous Openings, an initiative that once again brings together galleries, exhibition spaces, commercial venues, and alternative spaces in a collective programme dedicated to contemporary art, community-based artistic practices designed for the specificities of this territory — the Arts Quarter since 2007 — and an urban laboratory for civic and creative expression, open to everyone's participation and for everyone, through a free public programme with open access.
Between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm, visitors are invited to explore new exhibitions, discover new collections, and take part in a range of cultural activities programmed by Ágora.
The image featured on this edition’s poster was created by Susa Monteiro and curated by Ó! Galeria.
The digital poster will be displayed on the Porto City Council’s digital billboard network and in the Simultaneous Openings Gallery between June 24 and July 4, 2026, as part of the Art in Public Space project, ongoing since 2017.
Ó! Galeria was founded in the Miguel Bombarda Quarter in Porto in 2009 by Ema Ribeiro, with the aim of providing space and visibility for illustrators who lacked exhibition opportunities. Ema Ribeiro studied Photography at ESAP (Porto School of Arts) and Ceramics at Soares dos Reis Artistic School. As founder, artistic director, and curator of Ó! Galeria, she seeks to elevate the role of illustration within the contemporary art landscape, representing both national and international artists.
This is the 63rd poster developed through a collaborative process, with design, graphic language, and concept by Ana Alves da Silva (Braga, 1983), a communication designer who graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (FBAUP, 2006, pre-Bologna) and holds a specialisation in Cultural Contexts, Practices and Policies through a Master's degree in Sociology from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto (FLUP, 2024, with distinction).
