The 3rd year of the Bachelor's Degree in Visual Arts and Artistic Technologies invites teachers, students, collaborators and friends to visit the 2nd Exhibition of works produced within the scope of the Project Curricular Unit.
Entitled «In Media Res - No meio de acontecimentos», it will take place across three venues: Espaço Acaso (Porto), Casa da Imagem (V.N. de Gaia) and The Famous Garage (Valbom), from March 21st to 27th, 2026.
---
We are halfway through. Among ideas, objects and gestures, the visitor encounters works that neither begin nor end here: they are instants of an ongoing journey, fragments of experiences that unfold across time and space. In medias res invites us to read each work as an interval, an active pause between what has already been and what is yet to come.
If Caminhos opened directions and possibilities, this exhibition inhabits the flow — the movement of transformation, experimentation, and continuous construction. The works reveal themselves as permeable, unstable, traversed by memory, gesture and experience, reminding us that creation does not fix itself: it unfolds as it is traversed.
This is also a moment of transition for the artists: endings that are new beginnings. Each work is the result of many hands, multiple perspectives and lived experiences, in a plural practice that mirrors society and invites attentive listening. The audience is called to interact, to complete what is presented, to inhabit the space between the concrete and the ethereal — between what belongs and what is yet to belong.
