Gnil Lips is an improvisational duo of João Maia e Silva and Sulo Kolehmainen, focused on the subject/object nature of noise, as well as its relationship with everyday children. The project investigates the use of this sound material as a performative tool, while trying to make sense of the seemingly mundane in our daily relationship with acoustic phenomena.

Sulo Kolehmainen is an improviser and sound artist based between Helsinki and Venice, who usually works with non-linear feedback processes and field recordings.
João Maia e Silva is an architect and music composer based in Guimarães, and is primarily interested in the operation of digital systems designed and programmed by himself for the creation of electronic music.
