Whispering Sons' European tour passes through Portugal this year, once again under the AT The Rollercoaster label!
The Belgian quintet brings a dark and unique blend of experimental and frenetic post-punk. The propulsive instrumentation combined with Fenne Kuppens' deep vocal delivery equals a constant sense of restlessness, inherent in their music from the start. With a captivating energy and performance, the band has firmly established itself as a must-see live act.
After their debut album ‘Image’ (2018), which was very theatrical, and the following disc, ‘Several Others’ (2021), which focused on their greatest strength: pure, unpretentious intensity, this third album entitled ‘The Great Calm’, which gives its name to the tour, is sure to surprise the band's fans. Although less obscure than ‘Several Others’ and less grandiose than ‘Image’, Whispering Sons' typical identity is inherent in every track, as the band never shies away from its raw energy and emotion. As Fenne Kuppens herself says: ‘The record is more hopeful, there's more beauty in it. Our last album was very dark and quite destructive. I think this one is still a bit destructive, but there's hope in that destruction.’
