Galeria Municipal do Porto is inviting the public to take part in special guided tours of two of its exhibitions. Silvestre Pestana will present ‘Collapse’, while Eunice Pais will guide the tour of ‘Sean Skin’.
A key figure in Porto's contemporary art scene and a pioneer of visual poetry, performance, video art, electronic art and digital art, Silvestre Pestana has been developing his exploratory artistic practice since the 1960s. Curated by João Laia, the exhibition presents a new large-scale installation entitled "Collapse", a work that expands his rigorous analysis of the impact of technology on our society and the debris it leaves behind.
Eunice Pais is a Portuguese-Mozambican multidisciplinary artist who lives and works between Esposende and Porto. Her practice draws on different legacies to question forms of coexistence between species and geographies. In her first institutional exhibition, curated by Patrícia Coelho, the artist uses film and installation to offer an expanded interpretation of the landscape, creating a space for reflection on the interconnectedness of memory and ecosystems.
