The project will explore the intertwined colonial histories between Porto and Luanda, focusing on the 1934 Colonial Exhibition as a pivotal moment in ideological construction and cultural representation. Through the use of sound archives (music, songs, and recorded memories) and visual materials (particularly postcards) associated with the 1934 Exhibition, it seeks to reveal the sociopolitical foundations of colonial propaganda and its lasting impact on contemporary debates in Portuguese cities. Simphiwe Mlambo’s residency takes place within the scope of the InResidence program, Ágora – Cultura e Desporto, E.M.
