Fred Menos writes songs because they are his best way of telling and singing stories!
In 2021, he recorded his first EP: “Digo-te uma coisa”! The phrase is common, simple and reveals the desire to share that has characterised his musical journey... “it’s the way we say it (intonate it, sing it) that tells us everything else”! It was a self-released, very intimate EP, comprising around six highly autobiographical songs (available on all digital platforms).
He returned to the studio in 2023 to record, with his band (Fred Menos Mais Amigos), a new project, a new album: “Mais do Menos”. This new project was supported by GDA and executive produced by Turbina. At the launch concerts, he filled Passos Manuel (in Porto) and Bota (in Lisbon). He then visited smaller venues, small summer festivals and found a place on radio programmes dedicated to promoting Portuguese music.
By 2026, there will be 12 original tracks created and ready to record, but first the idea is to let the songs develop live, in concerts. The album and the tour leading up to it will be called: “Do mal, o Menos”. Recent times have been spent rehearsing and creating together. Waiting for you at Passos Manuel will be:
- Fred Menos (guitar and vocals);
- Joana Raquel (vocals);
- João Fragoso (bass, braguesa and vocals);
- João Neves (keyboards, guitar and vocals);
- Nuno Sanches (synth and vocals);
- Beatriz Rola (viola and violin).
