Fragoso Destino
Exposição de Dori Nigro e Paulo Pinto
Fragoso Destino
Créditos Iuri Ramos

Fragoso Destino is a cartography of lives, woven from a network of affections, activated through attentive listening and the gathering of memories/archives related to the floods of the Fragoso River (Olinda, Brazil). The artists explore narratives blurred by distant waters, revealing the marks of coloniality in the treatment of territory and denouncing the historical presence of a political project of environmental racism.

Beyond the video installation, photographs, and project soundtrack, the exhibition also includes a performative action taking place on February 7 at 3:00 pm, starting at Campo 24 de Agosto and ending at FISGA Warehouse, followed by the exhibition opening at 4:00 pm.

Dori and Paulo are creators, performers, art educators, and researchers. Life and art partners, they create by activating themes related to ancestry, spirituality, popular culture; affective memories; colonial heritage; dissident bodies; education, mental health, and finitude. They work as a duo, in partnership with other artist friends, with groups and communities, and sometimes individually. They are the caretakers of LÀRòyè, an atelier/home for affective, creative, and ancestral exchanges.
