Senhor Aníbal (Mr. Aníbal) is an elderly man who lives alone in a house-den. His companions are objects that inhabit the house and the memories each of them carries. Amidst so much solitude, so much silence, might Mr. Aníbal be feeling lonely? Or can the jumbled memories of 80 years of life become dizzyingly entertaining moments? Could it be that the objects in a house come to life just to keep this old man company? Teatro de Marionetas do Porto presents a show that reflects on old age and the loneliness associated with it. By following this character, we take a journey through his daily routines and setbacks, while the troupe explores everyday objects that carry their own memories, functions, and metaphors, and reflects on aging in modern times.

The absolute premiere of the troupe’s latest creation will be presented at fimp. The historic Porto-based troupe will welcome us in its time-honoured venue, Teatro de Belomonte.
