There is a house.
It is not simply a place—it is a body, a memory, a substance made of shadow.
Within it, a man attempts to see. He closes his eyes. And then something begins: a faint light, barely perceptible, hesitating between appearing and disappearing. A presence. Perhaps a woman. Perhaps only the shape of a longing.

Mulher Luz (Woman Light) unfolds within this gap between what is seen and what is imagined, between a gesture and its failure. The house is transformed. The darkness thickens. The world seeps in—at times violent, at times absurd—passing through bodies and leaving behind an array of traces, absences, and voids. At the heart of it lies the persistent attempt to reach for what is continually slipping away. Yet some encounters never come to pass; some presences exist only for as long as they are pursued.

Mulher Luz is a performance about this persistence: the determination to give form to the invisible, to dwell on what is missing, to stay even when the light no longer responds.
In the end, perhaps only the house remains.
Or that which, within the house, continues to seek.

Based on a free adaptation of José Luís Peixoto’s works, the performance unfolds as a sensory journey in which words become fragmented, and the body becomes language. Puppets, video, and matter create an unstable space, where figures emerge and dissolve, never fully coming into existence.
