The "monte" is not a concrete location, but an intermediate territory — between the natural and the humanised, between the visible and the undefined. More than a geography, it is a border condition, where various forces cross and continue to negotiate space, memory and time. I always return to that semi-wilderness [meio-ermo]. It’s where everything remains in orbit, despite the dispersion.
