The National Museum Soares dos Reis (MNSR) and the Bombarda – Quarteirão Criativo Association (QC) are hosting, on 29 November, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, the closing event of the 2025 edition of the Afinidades Programme, marked by the announcement of the winning artist.
Dedicated to contemporary ceramics, this edition celebrated the encounter between the MNSR’s historical collection and the creative dynamism of the Bombarda Arts District, presenting a total of 39 author pieces inspired by the painting Still Life (1645), by Pieter Claesz, from the MNSR collection.
In addition to the announcement of the winning piece/artist, the closing session includes the talk 20th-Century Portuguese Ceramics, featuring Pedro Moura Carvalho – art historian, researcher and collector – and Sílvia Pinto Costa, representing the Quarteirão Criativo Association.
The event concludes with a moment of celebration and gathering among artists, the local community and the general public, marking the end of a cycle that has brought together tradition and contemporaneity, heritage and artistic creation, through the medium of ceramics.
