The spectator is confronted with two men—at times friends, at times brothers, sometimes mere strangers or even rivals. The scene revolves around the presence of these two characters, who interact with each other, with objects, and with the space around them. They make use of acrobatic techniques and a silent yet provocative form of comedy, where their gaze conveys the tone, direction, and intention of each action.
“Deslizes” seems to tell the story of two old and close friends who, without resorting to spoken words, communicate both with the audience and with each other through a physical game—a game reminiscent of the classic childhood play of boys who pretend to fight, who engage in dialogue, and who express affection through small physical provocations, challenges, and intimidations.
