Traditional Mozambican dances are an expression of the diverse cultures, histories and communities of Mozambique, where movement, rhythm and music come together as forms of celebration, connection and cultural transmission.
Led by Tony Mondlane, these regular classes offer an introduction to different rhythms and dances from Mozambique, exploring movement, musicality and their cultural context. More than simply learning steps, the classes invite participants to discover the roots and meanings behind the dances, in a space for learning, sharing and connecting through music.
The classes are open to everyone, with or without previous dance experience.
An initiative by Associação Bamu Zunta Mon, in Porto.
