Amid cables, buttons, frequencies and curiosity, the Sociedade de Música Orgânica do Bonfim returns for another collective experience where creation unfolds in real time. As part of the Cultivar a Proximidade project and powered by Lovers&Lollypops, this pop-up orchestra invites musicians and participants — with or without prior experience — to come together in a performance that blurs the boundaries between concert, rehearsal and sound laboratory. Synthesizers, drum machines, samplers, keyboards and other electronic instruments become tools for encounter and improvisation, in an environment open to discovery and experimentation.
Following its remarkable debut at Perímetro 2024, the initiative now takes over the Lavadouros das Fontaínhas, transforming this unique space into a living stage for listening, collaboration and surprise. Under the direction of Henrique Apolinário — musician, sound designer and creator known for his work across performance, theatre and experimental composition — participants will be guided through an intense and engaging session in which the energy of the group becomes the essential raw material.
On 4 September, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, up to 10 participants will have the opportunity to take part in this ephemeral and unrepeatable creation. More than a workshop or a concert, it is an invitation to collective imagination: a moment to cultivate proximity through sound, presence and shared experience.
About the organiser
Lovers&Lollypops is a record label and concert promoter based in Bonfim, Porto, dedicated to releasing and promoting music by Portuguese and international artists. Active since 2005, the organisation has released more than 150 records, organised national and international tours, and produced concerts for a wide range of artists from Portugal and abroad.
As a partner of the Cultivar a Proximidade project, Lovers & Lollypops is responsible for organising this 19th session of the programme.
About the conductor
Henrique Apolinário is a musician and sound designer whose practice spans multiple formats and instruments. Moving fluidly between studio, stage and control room, he embraces with equal enthusiasm and rigour the roles of conductor, technician, creator and performer. With a background in music, theatre and studio engineering, his work encompasses a broad spectrum of activities — from solo performances for energetic dancefloors to the experimental direction of string ensembles.
Across this diversity of practices, he maintains a strong focus on physicality, improvisation, emotional intensity, humour and tension. He regularly releases albums and EPs through projects such as Zancudo Berraco, Qir Alin and Ensemble Quiromático, performing at festivals and in a variety of artistic contexts. He frequently collaborates on interdisciplinary productions with theatre companies and artistic collectives, particularly Teatro do Frio and Acendalha. He is also the founder of the music label MURZ.
