Born in Espinho, Ivo Teixeira constructs in this exhibition a territory where the works find a renewed body, reconfiguring themselves in a space so distinct from the one or ones where they moved.
Corpus in loco proposes a reading of bodies in space and time, in a field of encounters where metamorphosis differentiates that body in that space. Here, the body is neither fixed nor stable, it is matter in transit, susceptible to drift, relationship and change.
In the collages, the gesture of tearing, pasting and recomposing images taken from such well-organized contexts inscribes a logic of "re-integration", "re-configuration" and "re-contextualization". Fragments that attract and reorganize each other, not by similarity, but by the possibility of mutual transformation. Chance becomes a cause here, a force that allows new meanings to be constituted. A "re-memory".
In the triptych, the hand-stitched black line runs across the surface like a continuous and unstable trace, a path without a fixed destination. This line not only unites but also creates tension, brings opposites closer, creates friction, and draws a field where affinities emerge precisely in difference. "Re-define, re-place, re-encounter, re-construct, and re-revive" is the continuous movement that Ivo Teixeira's works inscribe.
