O Meu Corpo Humano* by Maria do Rosário Pedreira is the book chosen for the 17th edition of the Book Club.
The rules for participating in the Club are as follows:
• Registration is compulsory for each edition;
• We recommend reading the book selected for each edition, but this is not compulsory;
• Meetings will last 1½ hours, depending on the book.
The architecture of My Human Body links each of our emotions, memories and sensations to a part of the body or to specific organs: from the head to the kidneys and ankles, from the eyes to the hands and the heart, there is always a connection between the parts of the body – and the suffering that inhabits our lives, our memories and the marks we leave behind as we pass.
After a long hiatus in her poetic output, Maria do Rosário Pedreira returns with a book full of beauty and insight, like an anatomy lesson that seeks out the secrets of every memory.
