As is tradition in the city of Porto, the Inaugurações Simultâneas welcome the arrival of spring, drawing inspiration from Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, who sets the tone for this edition’s theme – “Poetry is in the Street!”
As part of the public programme of the Inaugurações Simultâneas, we present the first edition of the Inaugurações Simultâneas / Atelier 3|3 Reading Club, held in a roundtable format with shared reading and an open exchange of ideas.
This activity is part of the Inaugurações Simultâneas Arts Library (BAIS), a community-based and itinerant project in Porto’s Miguel Bombarda Cultural Quarter, to be developed continuously with each 2026 edition of the Inaugurações Simultâneas. Each edition will feature distinct reading themes and a “featured figure,” fostering encounters between literature, art, public space, and community.
Everyone is invited to take part and to bring a book to read (an excerpt). Book donations for exchange are also welcome — together we will help build BAIS!
The reading and discussion proposed for 21 March 2026, organised in partnership with Cristina Alves from the collective Atelier 3|3, focuses on the work of Inês Lourenço (Porto, 1942), one of the most significant Portuguese writers, who will be featured at the Porto Book Fair 2026.
In this way, the Inaugurações Simultâneas reaffirm their commitment to artistic creation, critical thinking, and community engagement, expanding their programme beyond the visual arts and strengthening dialogue between different cultural practices in the urban public space.
