Hard Club welcomes Cities Aviv, an American artist and one of the most singular figures in the contemporary experimental hip-hop scene.

With a free and unpredictable approach, Cities Aviv deconstructs the conventions of hip-hop through twitching loops, abrasive textures, extreme production techniques and a constantly shifting vocal style — moving between intricate rap, barely articulated murmurs and melody.

This special performance at Hard Club comes in the wake of the release of Even Colder Spring, his latest album on Australian experimental label Black Truffle, one of the leading names in experimental music.

Across 16 tracks, the album reveals Cities Aviv’s restless and exploratory side: productions that suddenly appear and disappear, field recordings that trigger unexpected shifts, layers of noise and distortion that conceal and reveal new details, and lyrics that move between apocalyptic visions, reflections on mortality, everyday life and disorientating imagery.

Despite the density and occasional claustrophobia of his sound, Even Colder Spring also leaves room for luminous and unexpectedly delicate moments, touching on territories such as krautrock, IDM and experimental electronics.
