THE KEEP, by Federico Conti
Documentary; Italy; 2024; 17’8”
Commentary by Ana Rita Cabrita
Synopsis: Sally Barnes is the last person in Ireland who smokes exclusively wild fish. Overwhelmed by the consequences of climate change and intensive fishing, her invaluable know-how is in danger of disappearing forever.
ERVILHA, by Teresa Mendonça
Documentary; Portugal; 2023; 11’53”
Commentary by Ana Rita Cabrita
Synopsis: A portrait of the people who work the land in Ervilha, a privately owned plot of land left abandoned in one of the richest areas of Porto: Foz do Douro. Ervilha faces the same threat that our world faces: being destroyed in the name of progress. A new avenue is planned that will destroy an area that feeds so many people. With a small step, we leave behind the noise of traffic and hear a different kind of noise: birds, streams, and people talking in the distance. This place gives the old and the young a joy of living and generates the air we so desperately need.
A entrada é livre.
