Academic tradition and musical excellence return to the Suggia Hall with the twelfth edition of TABernal. Organised by the Tuna Académica de Biomédicas, this festival has established itself as one of the most eagerly awaited events on Porto’s student calendar, celebrating the vitality of the tunas as key drivers of popular culture and university identity. Founded in 2003 within the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS), TAB celebrates over two decades of history, combining a passion for music with academic tradition.
Tonight, the stage at Casa da Música becomes a meeting place for sounds and generations. The line-up for the 12th TABernal stands out for the diversity and quality of the guest groups, promising a show that explores a varied musical repertoire featuring the following tunas: Afonsina, Javardémica, Fan-Farra Académica de Coimbra, TAFDUP and Tuna Feminina de Biomédicas.
True to its spirit of camaraderie and social responsibility, this year’s festival continues to support charitable causes, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Portuguese Paramyloidosis Association.
Come and celebrate university music at a show that honours the past and looks to the future of student traditions.
