“I was walking one morning when, just as I arrived, the sun began to shine through the trees: the idea for the Trio came to me instantly, with its first theme.” That moment of light in the heart of the Black Forest – the setting for the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm – crystallised into a seminal work for horn by Johannes Brahms. A sonic journey from the Germanic forest to the French salon, shared in the characteristic intimacy of the Café com Nata series.
