In ancient Persia, the Caliph Shariar, betrayed by his wife, decides to marry a new woman every night, having her killed the next morning. Scheherazade, the vizier’s daughter, offers to marry him. On their wedding night, she begins to tell him a fascinating story, interrupting it at dawn. Curious, the caliph postpones the execution. For a thousand and one nights, she tells new stories until she wins his heart and puts an end to the cycle of deaths.
