The Nutcracker is a timeless work that has enchanted generations. The ballet, composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, is now 133 years old, having premiered at the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg, and many of its melodies have become part of our collective memory. In this special concert, the Symphony Orchestra and the Children’s Choir are joined by an artist for an unforgettable evening. Kseniya Simonova is a Ukrainian visual artist with a long history of working with orchestras. She creates sand art to the sound of the music and will bring to life the Christmas Eve of the Stahlbaum family, their daughter Clara and her Nutcracker.
