Nuno Cernadas recorded Alexander Scriabin’s complete piano sonatas and the album, released by Etcetera Records, earned him high praise internationally. Born in Porto, winner of several awards in Portugal and abroad, the pianist has conquered stages and audiences with his delicate and sensual approach. In this Piano Cycle recital, he presents five works by Scriabin that illustrate the Russian composer’s final creative period, a phase in which music became synonymous with philosophy. The programme opens with Franz Schubert and his Sonata in G major, one of the few that were published before the composer’s untimely death. With its profound beauty and enormous serenity, it is an invitation to dream.
