The evening brings together this programme by Coro Casa da Música, which combines a very appealing French repertoire with recent and evocative pieces by American composers. In an invitation to dream and contemplate, but also to the mysteries and surprises hidden in the darkness, the line-up includes the only work Debussy wrote for a cappella choir and uses original arrangements to allow the choir to perform the famous piano piece Clair de Lune, as well as other famous songs by Fauré and Saint-Saëns. The finale is filled by the latter’s Danse macabre, in a new and surprising transcription of the brilliant orchestral piece.
