Composer and conductor Salvador Brotons leads the Portuguese Symphonic Band in two works that reveal his creative universe: La mar d’amunt, inspired by the strength and rugged beauty of the Catalan coast, and the Concerto for Tuba, written in 2020 and performed by virtuoso Sérgio Carolino, who gives voice to the lyricism and energy of this score. The programme also includes Montmagastre, a popular piece by Manuel Oltra, and the vibrant overture The Hounds of Spring by Alfred Reed, a musical celebration of youth and spring renewal.
