EN

Authentic Jazz is an African American dance form developed within Black communities in the United States, deeply connected to Jazz music and Swing culture. Characterised by rhythm, improvisation and individual expression, it is also at the roots of much of the movement vocabulary found in Swing dances.
Led by Gabriela Manfredini, these regular intermediate classes are designed for dancers with previous experience and offer an opportunity to deepen their vocabulary, musicality, rhythm, improvisation and individual expression in Authentic Jazz.
The classes explore the relationship between body and music, working with different movement qualities while developing a deeper understanding of the dance, its roots and cultural context.
An initiative by Associação Bamu Zunta Mon, in Porto.
